I've reached peak social
Where I live is beautiful, touch grass people!

It's all down here from now on.

The more and more I've thought about it, the more I see how little it does for me. Even in my head, social is human manipulation at scale, and people can't seem to see it.

I feel dirty even looking in on X. And recently I saw some people say they're going back because the algorithm is now magically better. No thanks.

LinkedIn algorithm sucks. Really. 110k for my company page. 22k followers. Means mostly nothing now. Everyone trying to figure out how to behave to be seen, that's manipulation. As is luring people in with success and then taking it away from them.

I've got 10k followers on Bluesky, but no real connection or community.

Threads feels fun at times, but again, seeing things like stranger death announcements just feels wrong.

And then there are the influencer/creator people just repeating the same thing over and over again.

And then expecting me to spend my one life sifting through AI content? No thanks.

I'm done with it all.

I'll still be online, in my own way. Primarily that means my personal blog (what you're reading), Rosieland for my community building research and staying focused with my work in the MoTaverse (which is somewhat social, but not in the sense with how the people understand what social is these days). You know where to find me.

I'm not deleting my social accounts, unfortunately, I need to stay connected to some extent. To me, it's more being intentional spending my time elsewhere, and to continue sharing online, which I've always genuinely loved doing.

I also feel like it's a great time to get creative with personal websites and blogging again. There are so many things I want to do, and I don't need social for it!
