Mornings are for health and exercise

I keep dipping in and out of this habit, but I always feel great when I'm doing it.

I'm writing it here to remind me. It works and it's important.

I seek to carefully design every aspect of my life in a positive way that works for me and my family. I love the work that I do and I'm a sucker for picking up my laptop and letting the world around me just disappear—as in, I get sucked into my work and find it hard to motivate myself to do anything else once I've started.

Strategies that work for me generally involve rules. So my current rules are that the mornings are for (mental) health and exercise as a priority.

This can mean many things, ideally I want to be doing exercise and 10k steps every day. I'm not there yet.

Ideally all food would be low carb-ish and home cooked. Again, I'm not there yet.

I do get close to it when I focus mornings on exercise, cooking and creative activities without the rush to pick up my laptop. So this is my focus right now.

First deal with my own health, family and house needs. Then do work, in the right frame of mind.
